WYD 2023

World Youth Day: Lisbon

All young adults of the Diocese of Tulsa are invited to Lisbon for World Youth Day with Pope Francis and millions of other young adults from around the world. A tentative schedule and itinerary are available below*.

For more information or to sign up, please e-mail or call us!

The purpose of World Youth Day is three-fold:

  1. Putting Trust in the Young
World Youth Day brings together young adults from the four corners of the world as a strong reminder of the strength and confidence the young contribute to the Church today.
  2. Gathering Together
World Youth Day is not simply a gathering for the young people of the world, but a time to put trust in the world's youth, a calling for the world's youth to come together as one people.
  3. Meeting the International World on a Human Level
It is still a marvel in this the 21st Century to exchange with others and to be a part of an international experience. International events are stir much hope but also many fears (increase in fundamentalism, nationalism and other new conflicts). The Church and Christians themselves have a role to play in preventing the development of these fears, and aid each person in finding their way and discovering hope.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Date: The Vatican has not yet announced the exact dates of World Youth Day 2023. At this time, it is believed to be around the first week of August.

The cost per person will be released between $3500 and $4500 including food, land & air transportation, lodging and World Youth Day activities. We recommend participants also have at least 200 Euros for the trip as well.

Parish Leaders: If you would like further details and/or a presentation for your high school youth or college students, please let us know! We would love to share our experiences at World Youth Day in Krakow in 2016 for a glimpse into what to expect for Lisbon 2023.
